Dennis, along with fellow military BRAT, Dr. Rick Connell, support a small village English learning school, just outside of Seim Reap, Cambodia. The economy in this area is 90% tourism, yet English is not taught in the Khmer schools, and many children have no way to get to the public schools on a regular basis. By providing an English learning program, tools and other support to the village, elementary and junior high aged children, now have a greater possibility for employment and a career in the tourism sector which can make a huge difference in the stability of a family’s basic income needs. The cycle of agriculture only families that live in harsh and impoverished dependency on crops, can be broken with more of the children becoming part of the tourism profession.
